Scott Hamblin, a shareholder with the law office of Brydon Swearengen & England P.C. recently attended the 12th Annual Family Law Conference sponsored by the Missouri Bar. Topics of discussion included, but were not limited to, the following: discussion regarding child support calculations and deviating from presumed child support calculations, addressing allegations of domestic violence in divorce and dissolution of marriage cases, using Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (“QDRO”) in dividing retirement benefits, how judges treat child custody in situations involving married parents and parents that have never been married, whether third party custody or guardianship is appropriate and which is more appropriate, terminating child support payments, and legislative updates concerning court opinions impacting divorce, child custody, child support, maintenance and other legal issues.

For more than a decade, Scott Hamblin has litigated cases in Circuit Courts and United States District Courts throughout Missouri. Scott regularly practices in the areas of family law, divorce, child custody, child support, paternity, child custody modifications, adoptions and guardianships.
