On May 10, BSE shareholders Johnny K. Richardson, L. Russell Mitten and Scott A. Hamblin attended a continuing legal education course at the Missouri Supreme Court entitled “The Constitution, the Supreme Court, and Judicial Decision-Making: A Historical and Ethical Perspective.”
The CLE was presented by Supreme Court Judge Michael Wolff and MU Political Science Professor Emeritus Frederick Spiegel.
Johnny K. Richardon practices in a wide variety of subject areas, including general civil litigation and trial and appellate work for clients. He is a former General Counsel for the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. He frequently represents physicians and other professionals in licensure and disciplinary proceedings before the Administrative Hearing Commission and the numerous professional licensing boards in Missouri, including the State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts, the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the State Board of Pharmacy, the State Dental Board, the State Board of Nursing, the State Committee of Psychologists, the Department of Social Services, Division of Medical Services, the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the Missouri Board for Architects, Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors.
L. Russell Mitten served as chief legal officer and corporate secretary of large public companies in the telecommunications and public utility industries for more than 20 years, most recently as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Citizens Communications Company (now Frontier Communications) and prior to that in the legal department of GTE Corporation. His experience spans the full range of business and legal issues encountered by large companies, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures; Sarbanes-Oxley and SEC compliance; corporate and securities matters; commercial transactions; labor and employment law; corporate governance; environmental law; and complex litigation.
Scott A. Hamblin has litigated cases in Circuit Courts and United States District Courts throughout Missouri for more than a decade. Scott regularly practices in the areas of family law, divorce, child custody, paternity, child custody modifications, State and Federal Criminal defense including drug trafficking, drug possession, firearm offenses, sexual crimes, money laundering, driving while intoxicated (DWI/DUI), and manslaughter.
